Honda’s Sales Figures Shows The CR-V Is Closing The Gap On The Toyota RAV4
The 2026 Honda CR-V dominated American Honda’s (AHM) first-half 2026 sales, with 226,114 units sold—a record-breaking performance. Accounting for 29.87% of AHM’s 756,920 total units, the CR-V outperformed all other models and even the entire Acura division.
Driven by high demand for compact SUVs and a 30% surge in June sales, the CR-V is now challenging the Toyota RAV4 for the title of America’s best-selling SUV. Electrified models also performed strongly, with the CR-V Hybrid making up 55% of the line’s total sales.
Within the Honda brand, the CR-V nearly matches the combined sales of all other compact SUVs. Including the Accord, Civic, and Prelude, the CR-V makes up 32% of total sales. Remarkably, the CR-V’s 226,114 units in H1 2026 alone tripled the entire Acura division’s volume of 69,715.
Total sales for Honda’s passenger cars—the Civic, Accord, and Prelude—reached 224,231, still falling short of the CR-V’s figures. Additionally, the market shift toward electrification is evident: the CR-V Hybrid moved 124,017 units, accounting for 55% of the model’s total sales and outselling its ICE-only counterpart.
The 2026 Honda CR-V is dominating the U.S. market, with H1 sales of 226,114 units—nearly doubling Acura’s entire division volume. Driven by a 30% surge in June and strong hybrid demand, the CR-V is now challenging the Toyota RAV4 for the title of America’s best-selling SUV. As Honda shifts toward electrification, the CR-V’s reliability and market momentum set the stage for a potential leadership change in the SUV segment by year-end.
