Skoda To Continue Diesel Engines Investments

Škoda refuses to give up on diesels and announces that it will continue investing in diesel engines.
The successful Octavia model is one of the models that will be offered in the next generation with a wide range of powertrains, and the idea is that it will still be sold with a renewed diesel engine, reports Autocar.
Experts warn that the boom in electric cars means the end of diesel cars and that, in the worst case, they could disappear completely within a few years. But Škoda does not share that image. In order to maintain a broad customer base, they decide to play on more fields, and the diesel engine is still needed.
Apart from the diesel, the new generation Octavia will be available as a mild hybrid and a plug-in hybrid.
