World’s fastest production car : Yangwang U9 Xtreme makes UK debut at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
At the Beijing Auto Show, orders were locked in at around $2.92m each—more than ten times the price of the “regular” YangWang U9.
Last September, the U9 Xtreme set an official production-car top-speed record of 308.4 mph at Germany’s ATP Papenburg test track.

Yangwang U9 Xtreme, a limited-edition Chinese hypercar from BYD’s luxury brand made its first European debut at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, drawing crowds for its previous record-breaking feats on European soil.
The U9 Xtreme made headlines last September after setting an official production-car top-speed record of 496.22 km/h (308.4 mph) at Germany’s ATP Papenburg test track—a benchmark that was soon followed by a searing 6:59.157 lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The 3,000-horsepower Yangwang U9 Xtreme’s appearance at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed confirms European availability for the ultra-rare, 30-unit hypercar.
The U9 Xtreme “The Dawn,” the first production-spec model, made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show, where several orders were locked in at around $2.92 million each—fetching more than ten times the price of the “regular” YangWang U9, which is available from $263,000.

“By delving into these millennia-old traditions, YANGWANG aims to find a resonance of values between Eastern artistic craftsmanship and the discerning tastes of 30 of the world’s top collectors,” BYD, said in statement while confirming that each example of the U9 Xtreme will be a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Also making their debut at this year’s Festival of Speed are the awe-inspiring U8L—a four-seater luxury SUV known for its swimming capability—and the U7 executive saloon, which is available in both plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains and equipped with an e⁴ four-motor layout.
