Mercedes-AMG Is Pursuing 27 New Vehicles To Overtake BMW M
The Mercedes-AMG is prepared to go into overdrive. The high-performance subbrand aims to reach 200,000 global sales per year by 2030, according to an Automotive News story. Compared to the planned 2025 delivery of 145,000 automobiles, this ambitious milestone represents a 38% increase.
In order to get there, AMG will introduce over 27 vehicles over the course of the next 36 months, including a variety of market niches and body types, according to CEO Michael Schiebe. For the automaker, the quick product expansion coincides with a critical period.
Mercedes-AMG’s global sales are dominated by BMW M, according to recent data, which forces the Affalterbach brand to reconsider its competitive approach. AMG is mainly relying on next-generation electric vehicle technologies to regain its position as the industry leader.

A Reinforced V8 Powertrain And Advanced Electric Motors
A revolutionary new powertrain lies at the centre of this electric revolution. Three extremely sophisticated axial-flux e-motors are part of the forthcoming GT 4-Door Coupe. Mercedes recently started producing the motor that has the potential to revolutionise AMG EVs by delivering enormous power in a remarkably lightweight compact. To preserve a unique, high-performance emotive appeal, these specialised axial flux motors will only be found in AMG cars.
Internal combustion is still around, even if electricity is the long-term solution. By launching a significantly updated V-8 engine in the second half of 2026, AMG is aggressively bolstering its gas-powered portfolio. According to recent spy photos of new models like the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63, the company is dedicated to meeting the needs of traditional consumers who want traditional cylinder counts. AMG will concentrate primarily on these optimised V-8 and six-cylinder powerplants by reducing its number of engine variations from ten to just four.
AMG’s Ambitious Strategy: An Overview
The market for high-performance cars is getting more and more congested worldwide. The portfolios of well-known manufacturers like the Cadillac V-Series and Audi RS are always growing. The premium tier is being vigorously pursued by entrants in the meantime. The gorgeous Genesis GT3 concept is a prime example of how fast South Korean competitors are entering the premium motorsport and enthusiast markets.
Mercedes-AMG must improve to maintain its market share. Luckily, its dual-track approach of sophisticated combustion engines and improved electrification seems to be just what the company needs. AMG appears to be on the right track to achieve its 2030 objectives by concentrating on eye-catching exterior design, acute driving dynamics, and emotional appeal.
