Formula 1: Russell’s Victory In Austria
Mercedes driver George Russell is the winner of today’s Formula 1 race for the Austrian Grand Prix. On the Spielberg track, Russell recorded his seventh career triumph, also his second in the current season.
Second place was taken by Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, for whom this is the second podium of the season, while the third position went to Russell’s teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
McLaren driver Oscar Piastri crossed the finish line fourth, Lewis Hamilton from Ferrari finished fifth, and Isaac Hajar from Red Bull took sixth place.
Points were won by current world champion Lando Norris from McLaren, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, as well as Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
In the general standings after eight race weekends, Antonelli leads with 171 points; Russell is 40 points behind in second place, while Hamilton is third with 125 points.
The championship continues next week with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
