Honda Suspends Production Of The Civic Si

Published

Honda will pause Civic Si production after the 2026 model year, though a next-generation version is confirmed to return in the future.

In a formal statement, Honda confirmed that an updated iteration of the Civic Si is slated for a future return to the company’s vehicle lineup. Lance Woelfer, Vice President of Auto Sales at American Honda, commented on the development:

‘The Honda Civic Si has set the standard for affordable performance for four decades, and the all-new next-generation Civic Si will carry that tradition forward for enthusiast drivers when it returns to the Honda lineup.’

The 200-hp, manual-only Honda Civic Si costs $32,690. Honda is pausing production after the 2026 model year—its fourth such interruption since 1988—though a next-generation version is confirmed to return.

While Honda hasn’t officially confirmed the cause, a leaked memo suggests the production pause is due to 2027 EPA regulations. The suspension affects all models with the 1.5-liter turbo engine and six-speed manual, including the Acura Integra A-Spec, which Honda confirmed will also be paused.
