BMW To Launch A Spacious Version Of The ix3 But There’s A Catch

Anyone who finds the new BMW iX3 attractive, technically interesting, or both, can look forward to a new variant. It promises to be even more spacious than the original, and you’ll already be sitting comfortably in the back. This extra-spacious BMW iX3 is called the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase in full and has a 10.8-centimetre longer wheelbase. This means the wheelbase extends over a distance of 3 meters and 6 millimetres, even longer than that of the X5!

All the extra centimetres benefit the passengers in the back seat. The BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase—or iX3 L—has a disadvantage that is as big as its wheelbase: it is not coming to Europe.  The BMW Brilliance partnership developed the BMW iX3. In China, for China, and with China, as BMW itself says. That apparently does not mean that the iX3 will only be sold in China. The longer variants will also be on the market in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and India.

Many models in China are slightly longer than their European counterparts. This is also the case with BMW.  The X3 is longer, as are the 3 Series and 5 Series. A longer version is also coming from one of the biggest competitors of the new BMW iX3. AutoWeek recently showed you the first photos of the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology L. It has 3.03 meters between the front and rear axles.
