FRSC To Impound Trailers And Trucks Carrying Both Humans And Animals Following Fatal Crashes - autojosh

FRSC boss orders personnel to impound trailers and trucks carrying both humans and animals, following Sundays fatal crash.

18 persons lost their lives, 27 injured in the road accident which occurred at about 05:20 am on Sunday on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. 

Investigations into recent crashes revealed that the trailers carried humans and animals, vehicles involved embarked on night journey.

As part of efforts to reduce road traffic crashes across the country, Biu ordered sector commanders to immediately set up a Joint Task Force.





The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu has ordered the arrest of trailers and trucks carrying humans and animals together, following the crash involving an articulated vehicle on the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.

According to the agency, 18 persons lost their lives while no fewer than 27 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the road accident which occurred at about 05:20 am on Sunday.

The crash occurred when a DAF trailer with registration number KUJ 430XC overloaded with goods and humans lost control and fell into a ditch. It follows a fatal crash that claimed 18 lives in Nigeria State.

Preliminary investigations into the two crash revealed that the accidents involved trailers carrying humans and animals and that the vehicles involved embarked on night journey.

As part of efforts to reduce road traffic crashes across the country, Biu ordered sector commanders to immediately set up a joint task force comprising the Police, NSCDC, Nigerian Army and VIO to conduct special patrol operations that will apprehend and prosecute trailers and trucks carrying humans and animals.
