Hyundai Kona EV Wins ‘Electric Car Of The Year’ At NAJA Awards
Hyundai Kona EV, voted Electric Car Of The Year at this year’s 2021 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards.
Hyundai Creta was also voted as the Nigerian Car Of The Year at the event, defeating the new Toyota Corolla and Kia Rio.
The Hyundai Kona EV, Nigeria’s first locally-assembled electric vehicle, has been named Electric Car Of The Year at this year’s 2021 Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards.
This year’s event was held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, Lagos.
The recognition comes nearly a year after the Hyundai Kona EV was first launched by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu into the Nigerian market at the Stallion Group Automobile Factory, Ojo Lagos.
Also at the Auto Journalist award, the locally-assembled Hyundai Creta was voted as the Nigerian Car-Of-The-Year, defeating the new Toyota Corolla and Kia Rio.
Reacting to the awards, Mr. Gaurav Vashisht, Head, Sales and Marketing at Hyundai Motors Nigeria commended the organisers (NAJA) for finding the Hyundai Creta and Kona worthy of honours.

He described the Hyundai Creta and Kona EV as a testimony of the South Korean’s core vision of always developing high-quality vehicles.

The lifestyle-oriented Hyundai Kona electric vehicle comes with a 5 years of battery warranty and 5 years of vehicle warranty. Its battery-pack allows it to drive 482 km on full charge before running out of juice.
It can be charged at home or at work, and it takes 9.35 hrs to replenish the battery to full capacity.
