Ineo Grenadier Finally Gets The Much Awaited V8 Engine And Other Prototypes
Ineos, makers of the ‘original Defenders’ of the modern era, announces a series of special features. The most striking ingredients are extensive personalisation, portal axles, and, yes, a V8 engine
Chances are, you’ve seen an Ineos Grenadier driving around. The off-road vehicle is by no means a bestseller, and of course, it’s not meant to be, but it certainly attracts people with its bodywork that resembles the original Land Rover Defender and its old-school charm. Since Ineos has already been looking closely at Land Rover, the step to a personalization program is not that big. The new branch is called Arcane Works, and the first achievement is the Ineos Grenadier Detour. This is a Grenadier that is decorated all around with special trim and accessories, such as unique colors, grilles, and wheels. The interior is characterized by special types of leather and aluminium parts, all of which make the whole thing look even more high-quality. A special exhaust system amplifies the sound of the engine, and the idea is that the’ detour”, ‘for people who like to take the longest route’—is extremely suitable for long distances.

The Grenadier Detour makes its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where we also encounter other Ineos gems. For example, it shows an extra rugged Grenadier Quartermaster that stands extremely high on its legs thanks to portal axles, plus a regular ‘Station Wagon’ with a real V8 under the hood. Unlike the other Ineos engines, this one does not come from BMW but from General Motors and delivers 432 hp. There is also a Quartermaster that has been shortened by a good 30 centimetres and a special converted version with which you can explore African nature reserves. As you can see, with a grinder like this, you can go in all directions.
