Lexus Updates GX For 2022 With A New Infotainment System (Photos)
The 2022 Lexus GX mostly soldiers on with the same old platform and powertrain as before. But it is finally getting a pretty major infotainment update to help modernize it. Not only that, but it’s getting a Black Line edition like other Lexus models with the lovely Nori Green Pearl paint available.
The interior has the most significant changes as it spots a new IP stack to accommodate a large 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. With this upgrade, the famous Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration are equipped and are all standard across the range. The new screen means Lexus had to rejigger the layout, moving the vents to below the screen, separating it from the tactile controls below.
Along with the rest of the lineup, Lexus‘ full suite of safety tech is also standard. That includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Intelligent High Beams, and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
Black Edition models get blacked-out exterior trim, gloss black 18-inch wheels, model-specific lower front and rear bumper valances, two-tone Nuluxe upholstery, and a matte black Ash wood-trimmed steering wheel. In addition to the expected Black Onyx, the GX Black Line Special Edition is also available in Starfire Pearl (white) and an exclusive Nori Green Pearl.
The model’s 4.6-litre V6 carries over unchanged, producing 301 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 329 pound-feet (446 Newton-meters) of torque.
