New High-Performance Variant Of Porsche Cayenne Is Now The Fastest SUV To Lap The Nurburgring

Upcoming new high-performance variant of Porsche Cayenne is now the fastest SUV to lap the 12.94-mile Nurburgring track.
It was driven around the German track popularly known as the “Green Hell” in an astonishing 7:38.925 minutes.
The new record is four seconds quicker than the previous record set by the Audi RS Q8 in November 2019.
A new high-performance variant of the Porsche Cayenne is now the fastest sports utility vehicle (SUV) to lap the legendary 12.94-mile (20.832 km) Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany.
According to the automaker, the new record was set on June 14 after test driver Lars Kern piloted the camouflaged SUV around the German track popularly known as the “Green Hell” in an astonishing 7:38.925 minutes.
The new ‘Ring record for the ‘SUV, off-road vehicle, van, pick-up’ category is four seconds quicker than the previous record set by the Audi RS Q8 in November 2019.
Cayenne line vice president Stefan Weckbach said in a statement that :
“This Cayenne model is a top performer. During its development, we focused on exceptional on-road performance”

“Our record-breaking Cayenne is based on the Cayenne Turbo Coupé, though more systematically designed for maximum longitudinal and lateral dynamics..”
“Its record time on the Nordschleife confirms the dynamic capabilities of our new performance SUV. Furthermore, it’s a typical Cayenne all-rounder, providing a high degree of driving comfort and everyday utility.”
Porsche hasn’t reveal the technical specs of the production SUV just yet, but it said it will be based on the Cayenne Turbo Coupé. The Turbo Coupé SUV has a twin-turbocharged V-8 that can generate a very robust 541 horses and 567 ft lbs of twist.
No official release date has been set yet, though German luxury marque Porsche promises the new variant is coming soon.
