Ondo State ‘Amotekun’ Ford Explorer Sport Trac and Toyota Sienna patrol vehicles wears Leopard’s spots and ready for any terrain.
The security outfit codenamed Operation Amotekun (Leopard), is based in all the six states of the South Western, Nigeria.
Given the popularity of pickups, we aren’t surprised the durable and efficient trucks are part of newly inaugurated security outfit Amotekun’s fleet of patrol vehicles.
During the inauguration of the outfit at Gani Fawehimi Arcade in Akure on Tuesday, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu; assured the people of the state that criminals will no longer trouble the relative peace enjoyed in the state with the take-off of the State Security Network Agency known as Amotekun Corps.
Akeredolu reassured the people that the forthcoming election in the state would be very peaceful. He added that his government will not tolerate any form of criminality occasioned by elections.
The highlight of the event was the passing out parade of Pioneer Amotekun corps officers . These highly trained officers will compliment the efforts of the security agencies in addressing our security challenges.
During the parade, the officers showed off vehicles that will be used to patrol every nook and cranny of Ondo. Vehicles on display includes the Ford Explorer Sport Trac and Toyota Sienna minivans.
Unlike the traditional red color that we’ve seen on other Amotekun’s patrol vehicles; these ones wears the natural color of Leopard, which is an animal that it took its name from.
The Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), codenamed Operation Amotekun (Leopard), is a security outfit based in all the six states of the South Western, Nigeria.
The outfit, founded on 9 January 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State, is responsible for curbing insecurity in the region.
