Peugeot 508 Trims Levels Further Reduced As Petrol Powered Models Has Been Axed

Peugeot is taking another step in simplifying the delivery range of the Peugeot 508. Namely, it is losing a version. The result: only two flavours remain, one of which is the sporty PSE version.

In the market for a Peugeot 508? Then it seems that you will have to hurry up a bit if you still want to have some choice. The Peugeot 508 Berline and 508 SW’s delivery range is steadily thinned out. In mid-August, AutoWeek already wrote that the 508s were losing the regular petrol engine and would only be available with plug-in hybrid powertrains. The 180 and 225 hp plug-in hybrid engine versions were available as Allure and GT and those who wanted more could order the 360 hp PSE version. These three engine versions remain available in both the Peugeot 508 Berline and 508 SW. Still, there is less choice.

Peugeot is putting a line through the availability of the sporty and richly decorated GT version. This means that the 180-hp and 225-hp plug-in hybrid engine versions are only available with the Allure version. The 360 hp PSE versions with four-wheel drive are retained.

The Peugeot 508 Berline is available as a Hybrid 180 and as a Hybrid 225 – now both always as an Allure – from €50,400 and €51,900 respectively. For the Peugeot 508 SW with these drivetrains, you now pay respectively €52,000 and €53,500. Then you also get the Allure flavours. The Peugeot 508 Berline and 508 SW cost respectively €73,560 and €75,160 as a PSE.
