EFCC recovers Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, 2 Lexus SUVs, laptops, 15 phones, during a raid on Yahoo Boys’ hideouts in Port Harcourt.

Since the beginning of the year, the EFCC have recovered nothing less than 300 luxury cars from Yahoo Boys.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested eight suspected internet fraudsters aka Yahoo Boys at Royal Palm Estate, Peter Odili Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.





The suspects includes Ebitamuno Abereoku, Theophilus Monday, Godgift Clinton, Joshua Pina, Bright James Achesomie, Samuel Akunna, Ugbe John Paul and Harvey Orji.

The suspects were arrested on Monday, 28 June, 2021 based on verified intelligence linking them with suspected bitcoin and romance fraud.

During the successful raid, the commission recovered three luxury vehicles from the suspects. Vehicles confiscated includes a ash-coloured Lexus ES 350, a white- coloured Lexus RS 330 and one white-coloured Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle.

Other incriminating items recovered includes 15 phones (consisting of 11 iPhones plus 4 other models), 3 laptops, 2 smart watches, two ATM cards and one Identity Card.

According to the commission, all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.





The next thing that comes to mind after hearing the ‘Yahoo Boys’ is luxury cars and since the beginning of the year, the EFCC have recovered nothing less than 300 luxury cars from Yahoo Boys.

Imo, Osun, Lagos, and Anambra leads others states in the number of arrests and number of confiscations done so far.
