Toyota Recalls Over 400,000 Tundra Full Size Trucks
Japanese car giant Toyota is recalling over 400,000 vehicles due to issues with the rear reversing lights. The company is recalling 443,444 Tundra models built between 2022 and 2025 due to a potential failure of the reverse lights.
The problem arises due to the ingress of moisture into the light assemblies, which can lead to the failure of the “reverse” lights. If both lights fail, the driver’s visibility when reversing is reduced, and pedestrians and other vehicles are not notified that the car is reversing, increasing the risk of an accident.
A recall was reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on May 19. All owners of the affected vehicles must contact authorised service centres to obtain a free repair. This recall specifically targets Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models produced from 2022 to 2025.
