The Nigerian Army has destroyed six vehicles used in conveying food and logistics to Boko Haram hideouts in Borno.

The Army said the destruction would serve as a deterrent to other would-be offenders that are still doing business with Boko Haram.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday told journalists in Maiduguri that it has destroyed six confiscated vehicles used in conveying food and logistics to the hideouts of Boko Haram in Lake Chad and Sambisa Forest.

According to the Acting General Officer Commanding, 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim, four persons were arrested when the vehicles were intercepted.

Ibrahim, who supervised the destructions, said the intercepted vehicles comprised four pickup trucks and two Peugeot station wagons.

The Army boss said intelligence reports showed that the arrested suspects indulged in supplying Boko Haram with logistics from Maiduguri.

“They have always transported food and logistics to the terrorist group in their enclaves in Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad region.

He added that :

“Despite warnings, some of them still continue with the illicit and illegal business of supplying logistics and other materials to Boko Haram,”

Ibrahim further added that the destruction would serve as a deterrent to other would-be offenders that are still doing business with Boko Haram.
