Dangers Of Using Car AC!
No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before.
Many people are in their cars first thing in the morning and the last thing at night.. Please do NOT turn on the A/C as soon as you enter the car. Open the windows and turn on the AC after a couple of minutes. Several modern cars now come with a feature that turns off the AC re-circulation button by default when you start your car engine, thereby, allowing the toxic air inside the car to flow out.
According to research, the car dashboard, seat and air freshener emit Benzene, a cancer-causing toxin (carcinogen). In addition to causing cancer, benzene poisons bones, causes anaemia and attacks white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will also cause leukaemia as well as other health complications..
Take your time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car (especially new cars that are made for the Nigerian market). The acceptable indoor benzene level is 50 mg per sq ft.
A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of benzene. However, if a car is parked outdoors under the sun, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, more than 40 times the acceptable level.
People who get into their cars keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale this toxin which is difficult for our bodies to expel. So friends, please open the windows of your car and give time for the interior air to dispel the deadly material.
Finally, many drivers are caught up in a dilemma as they inhale benzene when their windows are up and inhale CO2 (carbon monoxide) emitted by other vehicles when the windows are down. Therefore, we call on the Government to establish strict laws against emissions in Nigeria in order to save the lives of our generation as well as posterity.
Thought: ‘When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.’ Please pass this on to as many people as possible. It is not too late to make changes.

This is great piece of information AutoJosh.
Regardless which level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs for human, driving gasoline-fueled vehicles remain expected in our modern century. Unfortunately, that goes along simultaneously with the health, dangers and risk that comes with it.
The danger of excess expose to benzene to cool off the heat (from outside temperature of avg. 27°C) with air-condition in cars, is like choosing the lesser of the two evil between exposure to Benzene and exposure to high heat.
Nonetheless, we can avoid been exposed to excessive benzene by keeping our car windows down while driving, or sitting in the car. This will help to minimize the damage done to the bone marrow, resulting in decreases in the number of circulating blood cell (Snyder, 2012).
