JTF Leader Killed In Borno After His Vehicle Hit A Road Bomb (IED) Planted By Boko Haram

Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) leader killed in Borno after his vehicle ram into ‘road bomb’ planted by Boko Haram.
The incident comes days after three others were killed in similar fashion when their car hit roadside bomb.
One other person died along with CJTF leader, while five other people were injured in the incident.
A leader of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State, Ibrahim Maliya Saidu, has died from an explosion after a patrol vehicle he was driving in hit a road bomb planted by Boko Haram insurgents.
According to reports, one other person died along with CJTF leader while five other people were injured in the incident which happened around Maliya village, Mandaragarau ward in Biu.
Until his death, Maliya Saidu was the planning secretary of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Biu.
A top CJTF member, Mohammed Aliyu, who announced Maaliya’s death, described him as a brave member who battled insurgents on several occasions.
“We received the sad news this afternoon, that one of our finest CJTF members died during an operation. It was a rude shock to everyone. May the soul of departed rest in peace.”
Vehicle Destroyed By IED
“Rest in peace, my brother Ibrahim Maliya Saidu Maliya, alongside other friends of ours, including Docta Suleiman Sykami, who also stepped on explosive devices planted by suspected Boko Haram fighters.”
Pictures shared online shows a before and after images of the incident. One of the pictures shows a pickup that was almost torn into pieces from an explosion triggered by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Boko Haram insurgents.
