Tesla Has Been Given Permission To Test Self-Driving Cars In China

Tesla has been given permission to test self-driving cars in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai. This was reported by the Bloomberg news agency, based on a source who wished to remain anonymous.
The approval comes six weeks after an unexpected emergency visit by Tesla boss Elon Musk to Beijing. According to the same anonymous source, there is a chance that the self-driving cars will later also be tested in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. Tesla employees would conduct the first tests.
Musk has been in discussions with Chinese politicians for some time to strengthen Tesla’s position in China. For example, Chinese Premier Li Qiang previously said that the collaboration with Tesla is a successful model for the United States and China.
