Ford Issues A Headlight Failure Recall For The Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, And Lincoln Nautilus

The pony cars and crossovers may not comply with federal safety standards for automotive lamps and reflective devices. The affected Mustang models were produced from March to July 2025 in the U.S. and Mexico.

This generation of the Lincoln Nautilus hails from China, where it’s produced at the Hangzhou assembly complex in Zhejiang by Changan Ford. Production dates for suspect Nautilus crossover utility vehicles range from May 19, 2025, to July 7, 2025.

According to the recall documentation published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Dearborn-based manufacturer started looking into this matter on March 15, 2025. It was then that Changan Ford workers identified a Lincoln Nautilus with an inoperative right-hand headlamp.

Eight additional vehicles were identified by March 31, 2025, five of which had non-functional rear lamp assemblies. Teardown analysis revealed burnt Schottky diodes in the LED driver modules supplied by Keboda, listed under four part numbers in Ford’s NHTSA recall report.

The report also highlights that the remedy modules will have properly operating Schottky diodes. Rather than Keboda, a tier-3 supplier took the blame for the quality issue affecting the Schottky diodes of the LED driver modules. Affected VINs are searchable on Ford’s consumer website since August 11, 2025.Owners and lessees will be notified by first-class mail between October 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. Interim notifications are to be mailed from August 25, 2025, through August 29, 2025. Dealers will check the serial numbers of the right- and left-hand modules. Any suspect module will be replaced at no charge to the customer.
