Made-In-Nigeria EZUGWU MRAP Armoured Vehicle Unveiled By Nigerian Army

The Nigerian army has launched its made-in-Nigeria Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, named ‘EZUGWU MRAP’ armoured vehicle. The EZUGWU MRAP armoured vehicle’s first assignment is to finish up the remaining Boko Haram insurgents.

The Nigerian army, on Friday launched its new Made-In-Nigeria armoured vehicle, named ‘EZUGWU MRAP’. The first Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle in Nigeria was named after Major General Victor Ezugwu in recognition of his efforts in combating Boko Haram terrorists.

It is the brainchild of Nigerian Army Command Engineering Depot (CED) in collaboration with the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria.

The all-terrain all-wheel-drive Armoured Vehicle is capable of moving through smooth and rough terrain. It is armored against small arms fire and uses flat-bottom armor technology. Its body can withstand a 7 kg TNT explosion whereas each wheel can withstand a 12 kg TNT explosion.

EZUGWU MRAP has a 12.7 mm Anti-Aircraft Gun and a 7.62 mm Light Machine Gun. All these armaments are enough to finish up the remaining deadly Boko Haram insurgents.

The military tank will carry a crew of 12, including a commander, driver, two gunners and eight soldiers.

Powering this mobile bunker is a Chinese-sourced WD615 turbo diesel engine.
