Argentine Soccer Star Mauro Icardi Buys $28 million Rolls-Royce Boat Tail

Galatasaray and Argentine soccer star Mauro Icardi buys $28 million Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, one of three built.
Icardi splashed nearly a third of his estimated net worth of $100m to own one of the three Boat Tails.
American music couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce, also rumoured to be one of three owners of the taylor-made Rolls-Royce Boat Tail.
Argentinian soccer star, Mauro Icardi, has reportedly splurged around $28 million to buy a coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, following the completion of his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Turkish football club Galatasaray.
If several recent media reports are to be believed, it means that the Galatasaray striker splashed nearly a third of his estimated net worth of around $100 million to own one of the three Rolls-Royce Boat Tails.
The three clients who commissioned the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail remained anonymous up till now, though American music couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce had been rumoured to be one of the three customers.
The first of the three unique coachbuilt creations finished in ‘Oceanic Blue’ was seen driving towards Dubai’s man-made Palm Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates months after the unveiling in May 2021.
Speaking at the launch of the new car, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said :
“Boat Tail is our most ambitious project yet. Coachbuild, in collaboration with its clients, has ignored all preconceived notions of possibility and set a new standard. This is Bespoke at its purest.”
“We have created a trio of exceptional cars which, although they share a common body style, are each imbued with the unique, highly personal imprint of the commissioning patron, thereby telling differing stories. Boat Tail is a distinct counterpoint to industrialised luxury.”
With a price tag of over $28 Million, the commissioned Boat Tail arrived at the time of debut in 2021 as the world’s most expensive new car, a record that now goes to the Rolls-Royce Droptail since August.
