BMW Unveils X5 L (Long Wheelbase) For The Chinese Market

Recently, BMW presented the new 5-series and i5 in an extended form specially intended for China, and now the facelifted BMW X5 has also been stretched. The BMW X5 as you can order it globally, with its car length of over 4.9 meters and wheelbase of 2.98 meters, is certainly not a small boy, but this new BMW X5 L is even longer.

The wheelbase of this renewed BMW X5 L is 3.11 meters, namely 13 centimeters longer than that of the original, and is even equal to that of big brother BMW X7. The BMW X7 will stay longer, by the way. After all, that SUV extends over a distance of more than 5.15 meters, while this X5 L does not yet reach 5.1 meters. In contrast to the X7, this longer X5 does not have a third row of seats, which means that all extra centimeters are used entirely for the legroom of the rear passengers. BMW has extended the rear doors and screws specially developed seats for the X5 L in the back of the model.

The illuminated Iconic Glow grille is standard in China, as is a panoramic glass roof. The X5 will be available in China as xDrive30Li and xDrive40Li. The xDrive30Li has a 258 hp and 400 Nm strong four-cylinder. The xDrive40Li has a 380 hp and 520 Nm powerful six-in-line. Both engine versions are standard as M Sport, the M Sport Luxury package is available as an option, which brings more chrome trim to the SUVs.
