FG To Divert Traffic On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway For Six Days
Mr Olukayode Popoola, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, announced on Sunday a six-day traffic diversion on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, beginning Monday, to expedite construction work.
The detour, according to Popoola, is needed to allow Julius Berger, the project’s first contractor, to pour asphalt between Arepo and Warewa, a distance of 1.5 kilometers.
He explained that the ground around the Punch area needs to be prepared, necessitating the traffic diversion to expedite development.
Popoola added that the traffic diversion would be on the Lagos bound carriageway.
“The public should please bear with the Federal Government,” he said.
