FRSC looses 5 personnel to knockdown in September, Corps Marshal directs immediate prosecution of culprits.
Corps Marshal urged Nigerians to honour their memory by respecting traffic laws and showing regard for FRSC operatives on duty.

The Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has directed the immediate prosecution of all motorists responsible for the death of five FRSC personnel in the month of September 2025.
According to a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the deceased FRSC officers were knocked down by reckless drivers while on official duties.
While stressing that the FRSC will no longer tolerate acts of recklessness that endanger its staff, Corps Marshal warned that offenders will be made to face the full weight of the law.
“Grievously saddened, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) wishes to announce that five of its gallant operatives lost their lives in the month of September, 2025 after being knocked down by reckless drivers while on official duties.”
“In line with this, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed has directed that all motorists responsible for these tragic incidents be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to serve as a deterrent against future occurrences.”
“These knockdowns happened across the following formations; Ekiti Sector Command, 6th September 2025, 8th September 2025 Ogun Sector Command, Taraba Sector Command, 15th September 2025, Jos By-Pass Unit Command, 19th September 2025, and Obollo Afor Unit Command 24th September 2025.”
The Corps Marshal noted with great concern the increasing hazards faced by FRSC operatives who, beyond being exposed to speeding vehicles, now also contend with kidnapping, violent attacks, and targeted assaults.
While commiserating with the families of the deceased officers, Corps Marshal urged Nigerians to honour their memory by respecting traffic laws, showing regard for FRSC operatives on duty, and supporting the Corps in its mandate to end avoidable deaths on the nation’s highways.
