Unlike most African leaders, who rides in Mercedes-Benz S-Class or the more luxurious Mercedes-Maybach variants as official cars, Obiang uses customized, armored Rolls-Royces.
Obiang has never been shy to flaunt some of his rides on his official social media pages. He has shared videos of himself arriving in style at official events in Rolls-Royce Phantom 8 sedan and the Cullinan SUV.
It will be recalled that some of Obiang’s collection of multi-million dollars supercars was sold off during a Bonhams auction in 2019 with proceeds from the sale donated to social programs in Equatorial Guinea.
The 25 collections of supercars, which includes an Aston Martin One-77, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari LaFerrari, Koenigsegg One:1 and Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, were seized by Swiss authorities in 2016 as part of a wider investigation by French authorities over his alleged misappropriation of state funds.
