Weststar adds that opting for counterfeit parts might appear to save costs, but in reality, it exposes customers to much higher risks.





Weststar Associates Limited (Mercedes-Benz Nigeria), the authorized general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Nigeria, has strongly advise all Mercedes-Benz customers to be wary of counterfeit automotive parts, following Mercedes-Benz’s 2024 report revealing alarming figures.

According to the data, the brand protectors, in partnership with customs and law enforcement authorities worldwide, conducted 793 raids that led to the seizure of more than 1.5 million (+49%) fake Mercedes-Benz products.

“Originals stand for tested quality. They meet technical, environmental, and occupational safety requirements, ensuring road safety,” Mercedes said, noting that fake products pose significant risks to millions of road users and cause immense economic damage.

Adding her input on the dangers of using fake or counterfeit products, the Managing Director of Weststar Associates Limited (Mercedes-Benz Nigeria), Ebere Anenih, said :

“Opting for counterfeit or substandard parts might appear to save costs in the short term, but in reality, it exposes customers to much higher risks – both financially and in terms of personal safety.”

“We strongly advise all Mercedes-Benz customers in Nigeria to insist on Genuine Parts and to only patronize our network of authorized dealerships and service partners for peace of mind and long-term value.”





While urging Mercedes-Benz customers to go genuine products, Weststar lists its dealers network in Nigeria to include Barbedos Cars in Abuja and Kaduna, M-B Automobile Services, Skymit Motors, Sunny Motors in Lagos, and Tetralog Nigeria in Enugu.

As the official custodian of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Nigeria, Weststar said it is reinforcing its commitment to safety and customer satisfaction by working closely with its network of accredited dealers to monitor supply chains and protect customers against counterfeits.
