The All-new 680-hp Aston Martin Vantage S Assumes Duties In Formula 1 As FIA Safety Car
The all-new 680-hp Aston Martin Vantage S this weekend assumed duties in Formula 1 as FIA Safety Car.
The V8-powered Aston Martin Vantage S can reach 62mph from rest in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202mph.
This powertrain allows this specially-equipped Vantage S to lead the world’s fastest racing cars under Safety Car conditions.
It joins a specially-equipped Aston Martin DBX707 ‘Medical Car’, which returned for 2025/26 Grand Prix season this March.

The all-new 2026 Aston Martin Vantage S, the most performance-focused Vantage ever, debuted as the new FIA Safety Car at this weekend’s Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at the Zandvoort Circuit in the Netherlands.
The all-new Vantage S is powered by a hand-built 4.0-litre Twin-Turbo V8, which produces 680-hp and 800Nm of torque, and allows the Vantage S to reach 62mph from rest in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202mph.

This powertrain allows this specially-equipped Aston Martin Vantage S – painted in the same Podium Green as the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team cars – to lead the world’s fastest racing cars under Safety Car conditions.

Bernd Mayländer, FIA Safety Car Driver, said :
“The introduction of the Vantage S as the Official FIA Safety Car of Formula 1 represents yet another clear step forward in the Vantage’s performance capability, exhibiting capabilities that further allow me to effectively respond quickly and safely when we receive the call for on-track deployment.”
“I’m delighted to be one of the very first to drive the Vantage S and look forward to experiencing the world’s greatest circuits in the most performance focused Vantage to date.”

In addition to its distinct Green finish, the new Vantage S Safety Car also gets aerodynamic upgrades, including a new rear deck spoiler as well as a FIA lightbar that have been engineered for optimum visibility during deployment.
The new Vantage S replaces the Vantage as the F1 Safety Car. It will join the specially equipped high-performance Aston Martin DBX707 ‘Medical Car’, which returned for 2025/26 Grand Prix season this March.
