Driving against traffic will not only disrupt free flow of traffic but also endangers the lives of other road users.

Last year, LASG said 80% of hit-and-run victims on Lagos roads were knocked down by motorists who drove against traffic.

A video posted to Carcontinent official Instagram page has captured the moment an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) stops a Land Rover Range Rover Velar SUV caught driving against the traffic.

Autojosh can’t say how the issue was resolved, but the driver of a red Range Rover Velar SUV faces vehicle impoundment and heavy fines for flouting Lagos traffic rules after taking a one-way road to beat its lane stopped by the Red Light.

The latest sighting of an offending driver comes weeks after a white Rolls-Royce Phantom 7 was captured taking one-way lane in Lagos, though the driver of the ultra-luxury sedan narrowly escaped vehicle Impoundment.

The Lagos State Government has said driving against traffic will not only disrupt the free flow of traffic but also endangers the lives and property of other road users in the State.

Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offenses Enforcement Unit, CSP Shola Jejeloye, said this while speaking during a public auction of impounded vehicles last year.

“From our records, 80% of hit-and-run victims on Lagos roads were knocked down by motorists who drove against traffic, especially in the early hours of the day”.
