Angry Neighbour Puts Expanding Foam On A Noisy Ford Mustang Exhaust
As many car enthusiasts enjoy the sound of a revving V8 or turbocharged engine, others may find it offensive. That again depends on which time of the day that it can be tolerated. A loud exhaust noise waking you up in the morning is an unpleasant experience by all means and this guy just about had enough. He acted accordingly and in a gruesome way too.
In a Facebook post, Aaron Robinson uploaded a picture of his car’s exhaust system filled with Great Stuff foam. The post was accompanied by a letter allegedly written by an angry neighbour. The letter reads “I finally found you! You want our attention, you don’t want our attention. You have 14 days to fix the mufflers or put the stock [exhaust] back on.” It then threatened “Don’t egg us on, you will only regret it. We encourage you to call the police [or] install video [cameras], nothing will work.” It then finished by saying “Fix your muffler!”.
Pouring that into a car’s exhaust is really crossing the line as the damage it can ensure will be serious and the person responsible can be arrested. Inasmuch as we can be sympathetic with the neighbour but that’s an illegal offence. From all indications, the car was fitted with an after-market exhaust because Ford fitted all their Mustang stock exhaust with “GOOD NEIGHBOUR MODE”. This mode can be activated to reduce the noise to 10 decibels quieter than usual. This feature has been available since 2017 and it was proposed by Ford’s Engineer Steve von Foerster. As he was driving his Shelby GT350 one morning and a neighbour called police over the car’s loud exhaust.
