Rainy Season : Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) urges motorist to have working wipers, brake, headlights, taillights.
FRSC also advised motorists to maintain normal speed limit during the rains cos of the slippery roads to avert crashes.
Did you know that driving vehicle with faulty windscreen wipers, headlights or tail lights can put you and your passengers at risk of deadly accidents during heavy downpour?
As parts of Nigeria get belted with heavy downpour, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is urging motorists to make sure their vehicles are in good working condition before getting behind the wheels.
According to FRSC, motorists should have working wipers, brake system, headlamps, rear lights, traffic indicators, side glasses, and clear windscreen while driving on the expressway during the rains.

The body in charge of road safety also advised motorists to maintain normal speed limit during the rains because of the slippery roads to avert crashes.
This advice was given by Mr Sikiru Alonge, the FRSC Unit Commander in Ore, Ondo State, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria. Sikiru also urged motorists to comply with all traffic rules as erring motorists would face the law if arrested.
“We are in the rainy season; motorists must ensure they have functional wipers, brakes, rear lights, trafficators, headlamps and a very clear windscreen for clearer vision,”
