In line with the SUV trend that shows no signs of weakening, many predicted that Lamborghini’s Urus model would not be the only SUV offered by the famous Italian car company for much longer, and according to rumors from various sources, both smaller and larger SUV models were mentioned in relation to the aforementioned Urus, which is the main “culprit” for the record sales results recorded in Sant’Agata Bolognese last year.

However, to the disappointment of many, head of marketing and sales Federico Foschini confirmed that Lamborghini has no intention of expanding its SUV offering, as such models are not the focus of the company, which gained its fame by producing famous two-seater super sports cars with centrally located V engines with at least eight cylinders.

Foschini said that a smaller SUV than the Urus would not have enough performance and exclusivity by Lamborghini standards, and an SUV larger than the Urus would have too many centimeters/kilograms, which is utterly contrary to the philosophy of the company founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini. “We would rather leave the production of such SUVs to one of the other companies under the Volkswagen umbrella,” says Foschini.

In addition to the Urus, which has now been partially electrified, which Foschini considers the right measure, Lamborghini will also produce the Temerario (the successor to the Huracán). The electric GT 2+2, which was announced with the Lanzador concept model and should be ready for production before the end of the decade, remains in the plans.
