The rebirth of a star as Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) launches the new Toyota Starlet into the Nigerian market. 

The Starlet which is placed in the Mini Sub-Compact SUV segment is TNL’s response to the yearnings of its customers that have over the years demanded an entry vehicle. 

It is an elegant vehicle imbued with the Quality, Durability, Reliability and Style that the Toyota brand stands for.

It comes in three variants which are the Entry grade, Mid grade and High grade. The new Starlet comes with 150,000 kilometres or 5 years warranty — whichever comes first.





Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), the sole distributor of Toyota vehicles in Nigeria, has unveiled the new Toyota Starlet to the excitement of its dealers, expectant customers, and members of the public.

During the well attended launch event that held at the Toyota (Nigeria) Limited’s corporate headquarters in Lekki, Lagos, the Managing Director of TNL, Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo said the introduction of the new Toyota Starlet was a response to the yearnings of their numerous customers.

Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo, who was represented by TNL General Manager, Corporate Services, Mr. Bunmi Onafowokan, said the new Startlet will cater to the preferences and pockets of the target segment.

“The STARLET is our response to the yearnings of our customers that have over the years demanded an entry vehicle. It is an elegant vehicle imbued with the Quality, Durability, Reliability and Style that the Toyota brand stands for.”

“The vehicle in its own right is a mini subcompact SUV and it comes with 150,000 kilometres or 5 years warranty; whichever comes first. It comes in three variants; Entry grade, Mid grade and High grade.”





While highlighting the essence of its quality after-sales service, TNL Managing Director revealed that the company is set to commission its world-class Certified Service Centre (CSC) at Isolo, Lagos.

“This facility has a body and paint section, a workshop and a parts section among other services available. With all sense of responsibility, I wish to note that this Centre is second-to-none in Nigeria when compared to others, on the pedestal of equipment, highly trained manpower and exceptional service delivery.”

About The New Starlet

The latest generation of the iconic Toyota Starlet comes with quite a number of unique selling propositions which include enhanced body design, easy maneuvrability, top class safety, luxury package as well as green tech for reduced emission.

It  also comes with LED lamps, daytime running lights, retractable side mirrors with turn signals as well as day and night electrochromic rearview mirror amongst others.

On the inside, it gets an optional 4.2 inch touch screen audio system, power window, push start, automatic climate control, 60:40 split rear seat etc. Furthermore, the touchscreen infotainment system is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a reverse-view camera, as well as bluetooth hands-free telephony and audio streaming capability that can all be operated from the steering wheel.

The power train features a 1.4 litre petrol engine that produces 68kW power at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. The power is sent to the wheels through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Safety features include ABS braking with EBD, parking sensors, vehicle stability control, brake assist, tyre pressure monitor, high mount stop lamp etc.
