2021 Honda Odyssey Tagged As The Safest Minivan On The Market
Honda has gotten recognition as the 2021 Odyssey has been declared the safest minivan on the market. As normal with all people’s carrier, safety is a priority and the Odyssey came out in flying colours. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently tested the popular minivan to destruction in a series of crash tests. They awarded the new Odyssey with a 2020 Top Safety Pick+. This is the first time a minivan has been awarded a 2020 Top Safety Pick+ rating and is also the only minivan to receive a top rating for the ease of use of its latch cheat seat attachment.
For 2021, Honda equipped the Odyssey with Honda Sensing suite of safety assists, including a collision mitigation braking system with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. In addition, during vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian avoidance tests, the minivan’s crash prevention system earned “Superior” ratings. Another factor that really helped the Odyssey is its structure as it features Honda’s rigid Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. This structure is designed to protect occupants in a variety of frontal collisions and advanced supplemental restraint systems.
Honda upgraded the Odyssey for 2021 with new interior and exterior features while retaining its engines. Power is provided by a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 280hp, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unlike most minivans in the market, the Odyssey is only available in a front-wheel-drive system.
