Lamborghini allows Father And Son, building a replica Aventador, to enjoy a free black Lamborghini Aventador Roadster for a few days for Christmas.

Remember the physicist father who is building a replica Lamborghini Aventador in order to fulfill his 11-year-old son dream of owning the car?

The physicist father Dr. Sterling Backus and his son Xander fell in love with the superfast Italian car while playing a video game Forza Horizon 3 – a video game for the Xbox One.

A Big Christmas Surprise

Embarking on this kind of project shows that the pair, who couldn’t afford to buy the $400,000 Aventador, really loves the super car. So for Christmas, Lamborghini rewarded the Colorado-based family’s dedication with a free ride on a brand new car.

Lamborghini fulfilled Xander’s dream by allowing him and his dad to enjoy a free brand new black Lamborghini Aventador Roadster for a few days. Obviously, Xander will never forget this experience and will remain forever a Lamborghini lover.

About the 3d-printed Aventador Replica

The impressive supercar boasts a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette LS1 V8 engine and two turbochargers, inverted Porsche 911 transaxle, as well as genuine Lamborghini parts, including windows, lights and windscreen wipers.

Mr Backus, who is also a professor at Colorado State University, made enough tweaks in order not incur any legal issues with Lamborghini.

“We decided that we would use advanced technology to build the car. However, we needed to do it on the cheap”

The build isn’t complete yet, but the physicist believes the final project will cost him around $20k (₦7.2m) or just only five per cent of what the original car cost.
