Nigerians have enjoined States and Federal government to focus more on rehabiliting roads after pictures of military vehicle stuck in the mud was shared on the social media pages.

In the pictures, three soldiers can be seen struggling to extract the Nigerian Army Toyota Hilux pickup truck that likely got broken down after being stuck in the middle of the muddy road.

The Toyota Hilux has been deployed in wars and conflicts due to its reliability, but the state of the roads shows that the vehicle will need assistance from an all-terrain tow vehicle to be able to escape the sticky situation.

Last month, an armour Lexus LX 570 SUV belonging to the Governor of Edo state Godwin Obaseki got stuck on a muddy road while on an official duty.

Pictures shared on social media shows the official car, a bulletproof Lexus LX 570, stuck on the muddy path as the driver made frantic efforts to free it.

Not that the Lexus LX 570 is not a good offroading machine, but what likely contributed to Obaseki’s SUV getting stuck must have been the added weight due to the armoring feature.
