Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale And Spider Gets A More Powerful 1,030 Hp Engine
Those who are familiar with earlier Ferrari models know models with XX in the name, such as the FXX and the FXX-K, as versions of Ferrari’s top models specially developed for track use. With this SF90 XX Stradale and Spider, the Italians are taking a different path. You can go on public roads with these extremists.
The Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider are not replacements for the XX-less SF90s they are based on, but extra heavy versions that Ferrari will produce in a limited edition. 799 copies of the closed SF90 XX Stradale will be available worldwide. The SF90 XX Spider with the roof that can be opened and closed in 14 seconds is even rarer with a series of 599 to be built. What do they offer?
The Ferrari SF90 Stradale and SF90 as you know them today have a 780 hp 4.0 V8 with two turbos and three electric motors that boost the system power to 1,000 hp. The eight-cylinder of the SF90’s XX is 797 and 804 Nm horsepower and the electric motors have also become more powerful. The compression ratio has been adjusted, the intake and exhaust path has been revised and Ferrari is bringing new pistons to the mighty eight-cylinder. The two electric motors on the front axle and the third one between the V8 and the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission raise the system power to 1,030 hp. The software of this transmission has also been modified.
The battery pack of the plug-in hybrid remains unchanged at 7.9 kWh. The exotics can travel a maximum of 25 kilometers on electrical power alone. The extra potent powertrain helps the SF90’s XX to reach a speed of 100 km/h in 2.3 counts and in just 6.5 seconds (Spider: 6.7 s) you race over the asphalt at 200 km/h. The top speed of both versions is 320 km/h.
