Dodge Hornet Is Facing Dark Times As Stellantis Postpones Facelift

Dark clouds are gathering over the Alfa Romeo Tonale’s American cousin, the Dodge Hornet. Stellantis is postponing the model’s potential facelift.
Whether and when the Dodge Hornet will receive a facelift and be allowed to go for a second round remains to be seen. This is according to a report from Automotive News. The outlet reports that Stellantis has postponed the production start of the “2026 Hornet” until further notice while it assesses the effects of US import tariffs. This likely involves a facelifted version. The Alfa Romeo Tonale may also receive a refresh later this year or next year.
The Dodge Hornet, which, like the Alfa Romeo Tonale, is built in Italy, is already struggling and could face even greater challenges due to import duties. Perhaps a delay will turn into a cancellation, and the Hornet might be discontinued sooner than expected. Dodge sold over 20,000 Hornets in the US last year (its first full year of sales), and this year the figure is over 5,600 units, meaning the peak appears to be behind us for now.
