Four Remastered Defenders Get Color-Changing Finish That Flip Between Green, Purple And Gold - autojosh

Four remastered Land Rover Defenders get color-changing finish that flip between green, purple and gold.

Remastered from an original 2012‑2016 Defender, the bespoke commission gets uprated with 5.0‑litre petrol V8 engine with 405PS.

The rebuilt vehicles also feature upgraded dampers, anti‑roll bars, a revised steering system, and larger brakes.

Land Rover Classic, the brand’s official restoration and customization division, has unveiled its latest work: a quartet of eye‑catching, remastered Classic Defender V8s rebuilt for a single client.

Remastered from an original 2012‑2016 Defender, the bespoke commission is in four iconic bodystyles: 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top, 110 Station Wagon and newly introduced 110 Double Cab Pick‑Up.

Each of the Classic Defender V8s has been uprated with Land Rover’s naturally aspirated 5.0‑litre petrol V8 engine producing 405PS. The vehicles also feature upgraded dampers, anti‑roll bars, a revised steering system, and larger brakes.

The highlight, however, is the new, colour-changing ‘Spectral Green’ paint finish, which transitions between green, purple, and gold depending on the viewing angle. Applying this complex finish takes close to 400 hours per vehicle.

In addition to the ‘Spectral Green’ finish that extends to the badging and central interior fascia panels, the bespoke collection also features a contrasting Icy White roof and expedition cage, the Defender bonnet script, and hand‑painted white coachline.

Inside, the collection features semi‑aniline Bridge of Weir Vanilla leather upholstered seats, a specially developed 9‑inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB/DAB+ digital radio, and an optional reversing camera.

“This spectacular Works Bespoke commission demonstrates the breadth of Land Rover Classic’s customisation capabilities – the result of a collaborative creative process that engages our clients with our in‑house design, engineering and craftspeople to bring their vision to life,” said Dominic Elms, the Director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic.
