Geely Launches New ‘Geely Galaxy’ Brand, To Launch 4 Hybrids, 3 Electric Vehicles In Two Years
China’s Geely Auto Group launches new high-end electrified brand called the Geely Galaxy.
Unveils Galaxy L7 long-range PHEV SUV along with a fully electric concept model called “Galaxy Light.”
Geely’s Galaxy brand aims to have seven new vehicle models in the market within the next two years.
Of the 7 models, four will be long-range plug-in hybrids, including L7 and L8, and three battery electric vehicles.
Geely’s new hybrid powertrain allows the L7 SUV model to reach a top speed of 200km/h and 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds.
China’s auto-giant, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd, commonly known as Geely, has officially launched a new high-end electrified brand called Geely Galaxy at a flagship event in Hangzhou on Thursday February 23rd, 2023.
At the ceremony, Geely Auto unveiled Galaxy L7 long-range PHEV SUV along with a fully electric concept model, the “Galaxy Light.”
Geely’s Galaxy sub-brand aims to have seven new vehicle models in the market within the next two years. Of the 7 models, four will be long-range plug-in hybrids, including L7 SUV and L8 sedan, and three battery electric vehicles.
Deliveries of the Galaxy L7 SUV and L6 sedan are expected to begin deliveries in the second and third quarter of 2023 while the Galaxy E8 electric vehicle is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The Geely Galaxy series launch also introduced the latest generation of Geely Auto’s NordThor dedicated hybrid engine, the NordThor 8848, which has a claimed peak thermal efficiency of 44.26%.
On the upcoming L7 SUV model, the hybrid powertrain enable to vehicle to reach a top speed of 200km/h and 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds and a drive range of 1370 km on a single tank in the long range hybrid model.
