It’s Possible That Ferrari Buyers Are Ordering The Luce To Get Better Cars Later

The internet largely criticised the Ferrari Luce, with even former CEO Luca di Montezemolo dismissing it, saying it’s a car the Chinese won’t copy. Despite the backlash, Ferrari reports strong interest, with reservations increasing and customers showing serious intent. Typically, buyers must purchase ‘junior’ Ferrari models first before qualifying for more exclusive cars, indicating a selective process behind the brand’s most controversial model.
The Italian carmaker is, let’s say, subtly encouraging its customers to purchase the Luce, according to a Bloomberg article. The prize? Moving up the list of priorities when a brand-new, exclusive model is released.
In the world of Ferraris and other ultra-luxury products, nothing is truly novel, but given its price, it’s intriguing to see the Luce promoted as a stepping stone. Although Ferrari’s first electric vehicle was unveiled at a launch event almost a month ago, it turns out that the company has already been urging its customers to do so. There were about 1,600 of them at the event, and it’s reasonable to assume the business spoke with a few.
One client was advised to purchase the vehicle “if he wanted to preserve his place among top clients”, according to Bloomberg. In order to acquire higher-end models, those who were relatively new to the company were also urged to buy the Luce or any of its less expensive versions.
Consider it an admission charge, but one that exceeds $600,000. Naturally, we’re not implying that Ferrari is pressuring customers to purchase the Luce, but it may help to explain why reservations for the vehicle have been full through 2027. Therefore, you know what to do if you are one percent of those who need the F80 or any of the XX programme models as soon as possible.
