Production Version Of One-off $18M Bugatti La Voiture Noire To Debut On May 31st - autojosh

Once the world’s most expensive new car, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, is up for sale again. The unique model, whose name translates to “Black Car”, is available on the market again, just four years after it was delivered to its first, anonymous owner.

This hypercar was presented in 2019 as a tribute to the lost classic Type 57 SC Atlantic, owned by Jean Bugatti himself. At the time of sale in 2021, said to be a “heavy” €11 million before tax, it was not only the most mysterious and expensive Bugatti, but also the most valuable new car of all time. At that time, the identity of the buyer remained a secret, and for a time, it was speculated that it was bought by the famous football player Cristiano Ronaldo, which turned out to be incorrect. Whoever the current owner is, decided to sell the unique car in strict discretion.

The sale of the hypercar with a carbon fiber body, painted in a special color “Black Carbon Glossy”, is organized by SBX Cars through its private sales program. This exclusive access means that all potentially interested buyers cannot access the sale – instead, they must request an invitation to even begin confidential negotiations to purchase this automotive collector’s masterpiece.

The design of La Voiture Noire is inspired by the marque’s legendary heritage, in particular the lost Type 57 SC Atlantic from the 1930s. Every detail on this car is designed as a modern interpretation of the historical model; it is handcrafted and refined to the last millimeter. The car is powered by the 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers found in the Chiron model, with as much as 1,500 horsepower.

Given that Bugatti has thoroughly tested the vehicle, 13,164 kilometers are currently recorded on the odometer. Given its rarity and history, this Bugatti undoubtedly represents the ultimate opportunity for collectors worldwide.
