Ford has launched a limited edition variant of its Ranger pickup called the Thunder. The pickup truck is limited to only 4500 units and it will be available in one colour for both the exterior and interior. It’s not the first time Ford launches a Ranger Thunder. The first one debuted in 2003 and the second in 2009.

For this latest version, Ford has decided to base it on the Ranger Wildtrak looks. By doing this, Ford added exclusive interior and exterior design while offering many popular practical options as standard. The Ranger Thunder is easily recognizable due to its Sea Grey body colour with red highlights on the grille and sports hoop. Thunder also gains exclusive 18-inch black alloy wheels and Ebony Black executions for the front grille. The rear bumper, skid plates, fog light surrounds also comes with the package. LED headlights with darkened bezels are also standard, as are the darkened taillight bezels at the rear.

The interior is not left out as Ford has equipped the Ranger Thunder with full Ebony leather seats with distinctive ‘Thunder’ red embroidery and matching stitching on the steering wheel, seats, instrument panel and key touchpoints throughout the cabin. The list of standard features also includes black floor mats and bespoke red-illuminated sill plates.

The pickup is available in a single bi-turbo 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine, providing 210hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. A standard 10-speed automatic transmission is available with permanent 4-wheel-drive. From looks, this Ranger Thunder is ready to but heads with the Toyota Hilux TRD model.
