Picture shared shows Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, the first civilian Governor of Lagos State, riding in a open-top Land Rover Defender SUV to review a military parade in the 80s.
Jakande, aka Baba Kekere, who served as Governor of Lagos State between October 1979 and December 1983, passed on peacefully in his sleep last year at the ripe age of 91.

Sanwo-Olu rode in open-top Land Rover Defender during Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary in 2021.
Described as ‘Action Governor’, ‘Father of Modern Lagos’, ‘the selfless achiever’ will forever etched in the annals of history due to his immense contributions to the development of Lagos.
The Land Rover seems to be the vehicle of choice for Lagos State Government as ‘parade vehicle’. The current Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had also been seen with one of this iconic British-made Sports Utility Vehicle.
