Collector Takes Delivery Of His 80th Porsche To Celebrate His 80th Birthday

Austrian collector Ottocar J. takes delivery of his 80th Porsche to celebrate his 80th birthday.

His new car, a Boxster Spyder, is his 80th Porsche since he started collecting them 43 years ago.

Ottocar J. fulfilled his dream of collecting his 80th Porsche at the age of 80.

Porsche has congratulated Austrian collector Ottocar J. as he takes delivery of his 80th Porsche car, a Boxster Spyder finished in Miami Blue, in 43 years. Yes, you heard that right.

The 80 year old who gifted himself a new Boxster Spyder to celebrate his birthday is seen here (picture below) leaning and smiling, having just collected it from the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen.

But this isn’t the first time he would be collecting his car in person. Ottocar J., who fulfilled his dream of collecting his 80th Porsche at the age of 80, recalls that:

“I came the first time in 1977. A 911 Carrera 3.0 was waiting for me then,”

According to Ottocar, his Porsche story started almost 50 years ago on the racing track.

“The Porsche cars simply flew past me on all sides,”

So he started to save up, and bought himself a 911 E in Speed Yellow, an acquisition that started of a lifelong passion.

Over the course of his life, the collector has owned 80 different Porsche cars, including nine versions of the Carrera RS, a 917, a 910 and a 956,

Today, his collection comprises around 38 cars, or, as Ottocar himself puts it: “I can drive a different one every day for a month – and two at the weekends.”
