2022 Acura RDX Gets Upgraded With Sportier Styling And Improved Tech
Acura announced its refreshed RDX for 2022 with upgraded styling and improved tech to meet the need of customers.
Drawing inspiration from the redesigned MDX, the RDX has a new front fascia that echoes its bigger brother. The changes are immediately noticeable as the model now features vertical air intakes and a revised grille with a slimmer surround.
The rear fascia has been reworked too, with cutouts for the new dual exhaust finishers. The A-Spec trim and the Advance Package models get the aforementioned LED fog lights along with power-folding wing mirrors, with the former also boasting unique exhaust tips in a gloss black finish.
For the interior, the designers focused on reducing road noise. New front fender liners reduce much of the noise, as does an active noise cancellation system. The engine’s cold idle speed was also lowered slightly, and front-wheel-drive models feature a new lower torque rod to help smooth out engine vibrations. In some grades, there’s also additional sound insulation, as well as acoustic glass.
Tech features, either standard or available, include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, as well as Amazon Alexa, an ambient lighting package, wireless charging pad for mobile devices, and a 7.0-inch screen in the instrument cluster that includes a digital speedometer.
The RDX’s mid-cycle refresh leaves the model’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder unchanged. It produces the same 276 horsepower that is connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission, which can be paired to an optional Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system with torque vectoring technology.
