US President Joe Biden Takes Hybrid Jeep Wrangler SUV For A Spin Around White House
US President Joe Biden takes Hybrid Jeep Wrangler for a spin around White House during an event on clean cars and trucks.
78 year old Joe Biden used the event to push for half of new cars to be emission-free by 2030.
Back in May, Biden test drove Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck prototype at Ford driving course.

President Joe Biden signed an executive order on increasing production of electric vehicles by 2030 on Aug. 5, 2021, during an event on clean cars and trucks.
During the event, 78 year old President Joe Biden took a Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon SUV for a spin around the South Lawn of the White House.

‘Have you guys driven an electric vehicle?’, ‘You don’t hear a thing,’ that’s the first question Biden asked reporters while alighting from the hybrid Jeep Wrangler.

Eric Mayne, Stellantis Spokesperson, said :
“He drove one lap around the South Lawn, stopped by the Oval Office and got out like he was driving to work. Almost like it was a daily commute,”
For the event, Secret Service agents reportedly arranged the vehicles. Biden was flanked by the Wrangler and the GMC Hummer electric pickup. A Ford F-150 and Ford e-Transit Van were also displayed at the event.

When asked by DailyMail.com about the bill that mandates breathalyzer technology for all new cars, Biden, who backed the idea, said :
‘In large part it would just help the driver,’
‘Because lots of times people have a couple drinks and don’t realize it,’ he added.
‘That’s a good idea, I think,’

Earlier, Biden, a car guy, said he told GM chief Mary Barra that when the company finally makes an electric Corvette, he wants to be the first to drive it.
‘When they make the first electric Corvette, I get to drive it,’
‘You don’t hear a thing,’

Back in May, when he visited Ford manufacturing plant in Dearborn, Michigan, Joe Biden test drove Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck prototype at Ford driving course trailed by Secret Service.
Then, Ford CEO said :
“At the end of his speech, he kinda turned to everyone, he goes, ‘You know I’m a car guy. And I want to drive this truck.’ Everyone politely laughed. Because presidents don’t drive vehicles”
