V8-powered Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Reclaims 0-400-0 km/h Record From All-electric Rimac Nevera R

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut reclaims the 0-400-0 km/h record nearly a month after Nevera R set a new record time of 25.79 seconds.
Factory test driver reached a new time of 25.21 seconds on August 7th 2025, beating Rimac Nevera R’s time by 0.58 seconds.
New refinements helped shaved over 2,5 seconds from the previous 0-400-0 km/h record time set by the same Jesko Absolut in 2024.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has reclaimed the coveted 0–400–0 km/h world record for homologated road cars, nearly a month after Rimac Nevera R’s new record time of 25.79 seconds bettered its time of 27.83 seconds set a year ago in July 2024.
Thanks to software tweaks to the same Jesko Absolut used in last year’s record run, factory test driver Markus Lundh was able to reach a new time of 25.21 seconds at Örebro airfield on August 7th 2025, beating Rimac Nevera R’s time by half a second (0.58 seconds).
Dubbed “Absolut Overdrive” and set to be rolled out to customer cars, these refinements, these refinements helped Markus shaved over 2,5 seconds from the previous 0-400-0 km/h record time of 27.83 set by the same Jesko Absolut in 2024.
While the all-electric Nevera R packs four electric motors making a combined 2107 horsepower, the Jesko Absolut uses a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8, which along with its low drag coefficient, helped deliver its new record-breaking performance.
“That we achieve this level of performance with a production car utilizing a combustion engine with rear wheel drive only – beating all 4-wheel drive electric cars in a straight line is almost magical and show that ‘truths’ can be re-written,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder and CEO.
“This run demonstrated the power of cross functional teamwork and exceptional communication between our in-house developed drivetrain systems,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder and CEO.
