The Nissan Kicks is the company’s smallest SUV that made its debut in 2016 and it received positive reviews. After 4 years of a successful run, Nissan has unveiled a facelifted model for the year 2021. One of the major highlights is the new electrified engine (for Thailand market) which will offer better fuel efficiency. The normal petrol engine will be available globally but not yet confirmed.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks adopts a revised appearance courtesy of slimmer LED headlights. It also comes with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and turning signals, larger V-Motion grille, and revised LED taillights. Customers can choose from six colours, four of which can be combined with an optional black roof.

The interior layout still remains the same but there are lots of tech improvements. From Intelligent Driving, Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Intelligent Rear View Mirror. There’s also a new ‘Gliding Wing’ instrument panel design, 7.0-inch central display (8.0-inch as an option), steering wheel and seats.

The model showed is the Thailand variant and it uses a 1.2-litre 3 cylinder dual engine (e-Power) mode that outputs 127hp. It delivers 192 lb-ft of torque. Since the Nissan Kicks is already available in Nigeria, it will not be long when this new model will be launched. But the Nigerian market should not expect the dual engine variant because it is a mild electric engine or should we? Only time of launch we’ll know for sure.
